Give Me a "D I S C " spells Management Orientation.


Ok so officially by test results i am a I.D. (Influence Dominance) management orientation personality... wow that was a m0uth full. Now just to explain, my management orientation personality means that i have a leadership concensus, but not as aggressive. I influence or persuade others to listen and go with my ideas in a passive agressive way. This test was actually accurate. This is my personality type, i am passive agressive and i try to convince others that my idea is beneficial for them and will help them in the short/long run.
I would not wish to be any other type of this personal profile because none of the others are my personality type. I would not want to be a "d" category because i am not not forceful and do not like to force my opinion onto others. I would like that if i have a group of people following my idea it is because i have convinced them that its good for them. I would not want to be "s" or "c" categories because i do not like to conform. I do not like things to stay stagnate. I need change, different tasks ideas.



Having a system like this should be crucial for every leader/manager to take because then it is easier to communicate and know what type of skills are being looked out for. It will open lines of communication and better understanding of how things should go in a work environment depending on manager orientation. A test like this would help me in many other personal interactions in a way that would allow me to understand how to complete a certain task and how to communicate with a certain manager personality. It would allow me to be able to determine what type of manager/leader profile they are and how i need to complete the certain task. Being in a manager /leader position it will allow me to understand and be able to communicate to others according to what profile orientation they are. All around it will make a work environment more understandable and lines of communication a little bit easier to use. Being happy at work always help too!

*I have a vision and Yes I can*

!YES WE CAN!






We all have dreams about what we are going to do or be when we "grow up". Some want to be actors, others civil rights leaders and many want to just make money doing what they are most skilled at. Thinking about it how many of us truly make our dreams a reality? How many of us work towards our short and long term goals and actually complete them? Not many do. Many give up and compromise for mediocre jobs. Many forget their dreams their vision ,and this is so because they lack the drive, the power , the self-confidence , knowledge , motivation , flexibility and integrity.
Personally i do have visions for the future. I have made a promise to myself that i will never lose sight of what it is that i want to achieve and what goals and accomplishment i wish to attain in the future. Some of my visions are as follow:


@ I want to make corporate office as a sales trainer for the company i currently work at . Educating new hires about products and services that are currently being provided not only to our customers but also the benefits that are in in for us the employees.
(b). I want to have a greater participation / role in helping those who are in need. I would like to be the supervisor /manager of a non profit organization that helps increase awareness of many in need. For example.: help in providing homeless or nearly homeless individuals in finding homes, jobs and maintaining socially acceptable lifestyles . Finding companys that will help aid projects that can help do this for those who are less fortunate.
{c.} Another of one of my future visions is to be an educator. I want to be able to share my experiences, my knowledge on (what i hope to accomplish many more cases) my humanitarian work. Describe how important it is to help those who dont have the opportunities that we are given so freely. Explain how to help by just lending a hand, a word, an extra push.

Knowing that i am quite distant from my visions, i know that there are certain steps i must surpass before getting "my feet wet". The one most important thing i need to commit to , in order for my visions (actualization of dreams) to become a reality , i would obtain a career postion within a company or orgnization that will allow me to develop the major skills needed in order for me to be successful in all of my visions. Even though the three visions listed above seem a little different they all share one thing in common... these are all visions that will have actions. I will have charisma, and have transactional and transformal leadership that will lead me to my success. Being a utilitarian will be my work. !!For the people by the people. (Corny HaHa)

Decision making

Chaos is the best word to describe the class activity. It was loud and everywhere. During the class activity i saw some who were leaders, followers and people who just sat there. Also something that i saw that was great was that the "leaders" were asking the professor what he would allow and what he wouldnt. It was great that we were all coming together to decide on a common benefit.
Throughtout the activity i did notice that in some situations those that were so involved in the beginning slowly dimed down and those who were quiet were up and about. Personalities did clash when some did not want others to take the role as "leader". Goal differences arouse when some wanted multiple choice(original one choice) and others wanted just eassay , the rest wanted both, but when we all listened to each other and actually communicated we all came to a common ground.
I believed i handled conflict in this class by means of accomodation. I chose this method because it seemed to most that the way the test was or what the format is was going to change the material that would be on it . It means more to the class what the format was and to me the material was just going to be the same material.

"Egg"nificent Job!


Planning process :

My team decided to begin by planning on how to protect the egg bottoms up. We measured how much material we would use to safeguard the egg, but still meeting guidelines of having 50% of the egg showing. Drawing a sketch was one of the beginning step. We needed a visual of what the safeguard would look like. Knowing what our goal and objective and what are resources were was what helped enable us to know how and where to start. In the resources step which happened during our planning stage we were able to know which role we would all play ( one person would draw, another was more the leader and others just built).
We really didn't think of many ways (tactical alternatives) . What we ended up doing was only deciding from 1 of 2 choices . We were so stuck on those two ways that we really didn't think outside of the box like most of the other teams. Also, being timed also created a sense of urgency which i think clouded our judgment on how to accurately test our creation.
The performance of our team was very good. We had a simple plan and it was something that we tested and it did well. I guess we should have tried to test it at the height we were suppose to drop it from and if there was enough protection over it. Testing different ways also would have helped for better planning.

Being more effective how?

The team could have been more effective if we would have done more thorough planning after we saw that our plan was not coming along as well as we had hoped for.. Should have had a couple of other ideas or alternative plans in case it didn't go well. Asking questions about plans that we thought of but did not know if it would be within guidelines. Being a little more open minded and thinking outside the box never hurt anyone, so we should have tried it. For next time happy planning and try to think of the unthinkable.



Hardship At Work:-(

Let us begin with what i do...I work for a cellular company :-Verizon Wireless. Everything is going well at work except for just recently we had our management team switched around (changed location) and the manager now at our location is putting his personal life out into the job environment. At first we all thought that it was a temporary thing, we were all wrong. The problem continued. He was having personal conversations at work throughout his shift. He was delegating his duties down to us, which in turn was taking our full attention off of selling to our customers.
As a team we all have come together to discuss what are some of the actions we should take... some have suggested to just bring up the matter to our district manager and let him take disciplinary actions. Others have suggested to just ignore his actions and let things continue until he changes his ways. I suggested that we should all write down what are issues are with his current actions or lack of actions, and demand a store meeting with him and his superior. This way it wont be a surprise to him how discontent we are with him and his lack of management attention. If this does not help the situation then we should take further actions and let his superior deal with it.

What should we all do in order to correct this situation?
If we do the meeting and things don't change what type of actions should we all do?

Hey!! Shera is the name. I'm just a young woman trying to find her place in the world. I've been searching, everywhere for who i am, but it seems like theres nowhere that i fit in perfectly. Honestly that doesn't bother me much. If you really wanna know something about me its that, i don't care what others think of me. I'm crazy, spontaneous,honest, friendly,a tattoo admirer, piercing lover, out of this world outrageous. I'm curious, no not nosy, but curious big difference.I love to laugh and smile. I love it how I'm so wrong at reading people.i love it when everyone gets along with me, but i really dont care if you dont.

I also love to make mistakes, mistakes show me not my weaknesses but where my strengths are. I smile about my errors and accept them as my own and I don't wish to change them i can only pray to learn from them. My scars are what keep me up,they remind me that the past is real, that the past is exactly what molds me to be who i am and better. Ive learned not to resent my past because karma is a bitch. I think about the present and all i have endured all the pain and unrealistic realities that have stumbled my way and still i'm going strong. I think about my future and all i see is a pathway, empty and clear....for me to mold it and make of it as i wish. If there's anything you want to know just ask, do not ever assume. The truth is far better than a fictional thought.
